{Blog Tour} {Review} Smash Into You - Shelly Crane

Smash Into You by Shelly Crane
Genre:
Release Date: Aug 13 / 2013
Jude has spent the whole twenty one years of his life running. From what, he wasn't quite sure. His mother tried to keep him safe; a low profile, a constant move on the horizon, a week's pay always stashed away. She tried to instill in him that he was special somehow, though would never elaborate. He never felt different. He was so completely normal and vanilla that he wondered if it had all been in her head. But then she was murdered and all he saw was a running silhouette of a man as his mother said three final words to him. Three words that changed his whole being.
Never stop running…
Now he's semi-settled into a big town. The college is huge and easy to blend into. It's been three months since he had to move because 'Biloxi', as he calls the man who killed his mother, found him once more.
Then Marley, an eighteen year old girl who is as infuriating as she is blissfully ignorant of her gorgeousness, smashes into his car with hers. Then smashes into his life as he realizes that whatever it is he has that Biloxi wants, she has it, too. And now, they're after them both.

Thank you so much to InkslingerPR for the awesome tour!

Before I get into my review, I would just like to point out what a cute dedication this book has :) Isn't it just so cute and adorable? :3

For my two boys. May you always know how to treat a girl, how to respect her, how to love her for who she is, focus on the things you love about each other and compromise everything else, make it work, make it last, adore her. She's yours. Protect, love, and cherish her.

Anyways, onto the review! Smash into You is about this boy named Jude who has been on the run his whole life. We didn't really know why in the beginning. As we get to know about him, we can see that there's some of murderer after him. Marley "smashes" into his life and now they're both the run.

I have to say that I felt like this was a case of insta-love. When they first met, Jude just fell for her but he didn't want to have anything to do with her. He didn't want to drag people his situation and he just rejected everybody. If you don't insta-love, you might not like this because of the instant attraction they have. But when Jude gave in and started to have a relationship with Marley, I softened because I like he respects Marley but still objects when he has his own opinions.

I also would love know more about the company that was after Jude and Marley. I don't feel like much was explained about them and what their cause for doing what they do. I just want to know, How does what they save people? Could they potentially develop a cure for cancer or something out of their research? And is it worth hurting so many people to that?

Overall, I found Smash into You to be a great contemporary. I think Shelly Crane fans would love it because she still has her own writing style and it would be good for fans that love contemporaries but don't want to dive into sci-fi / fantasy.

  1. Aww let me appreciate that pretty cursive font on the cover ^^

Anyways, this isn't normally the kind of book that I like, especially with the insta love but I already appreciate Jude for staying true to his opinions. Cause, you know, usually when people are in love, they tend to do whatever their loveones ask for.

    Awesome review! :33
