I recently saw this survey over at Eveline's Books and thought this was super fun! The A to Z Bookish Survey was originally created by The Perpetual Page-Turner. Feel free to join in and have some fun!
Authors you've read the most books from -
Rick Riordan and Joseph Delaney tied on my list! 14 books in total for both of them, woot!
Best Sequel Ever -
Is it cheating if I choose two? The books are equally awesome and both blew me away. The first one is The Runaway King by Jennifer A. Nielsen and the second is Such Wicked Intent by Kenneth Oppel.
Drink of Choice While Reading -
I don't actually drink much of anything while I read. When I do, it's usually soda or tea.
E-reader or Physical Book?
I get a lot more eBooks than physical because they're easier to carry around. I get physical books for ones that I love dearly with all my heart.
Fictional Character You Probably Would Have Actually Dated in High School -
I would've dated a lot of fictional characters. But you know, they're still fictional. Let me cheat again.. I just can't decide on just one! Cam from Wait for You, Percy Jackson from Percy Jackson and the Olympians, and Leo from The Lost Hero. I have limited myself with just three picks.. BE HAPPY. (If I could've had more, I would've thrown in Will and Jem from TID :P)
Glad You Gave This Book A Chance -
The Harry Potter series, definitely. I didn't want to read it because the series looked intimidatingly long (the books were so thick)! Also I didn't want to read it because of the hype and that it's a global bestseller.
Hidden Gem Book -
Keepers of the Lost Cities by Shannon Messenger. Not a lot of people read it simply because it's MG. I think it's enjoyable for all ages. I wasn't really planning on reading this either.. I picked it up on a whim or it would have still sat in my TBR pile until now.
Important Moment in your Reading Life -
The moment would be when I created this blog, Secrets of Lost Words. Even though it's still really small after a year, it's still my baby and I would keep blogging forever (going 'til I'm 80 lol)!
Kinds of Books You Won't Read -
Erotica. That's the only kind of book I won't read.
Longest Book You've Read -
According to Goodreads, the longest book I've read is Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
Major Book Hangover because of -
Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare. When I finished it (and sobbed buckets), it was just a wtf-do-I-do-with-my-life-now moment.
Number of Bookcases You Own -
1. I don't have a big collection of physical books.
One Book You Have Read Multiple Times -
The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan. This is the book that got me hooked to reading and I still re-read it every now and then.
Preferred Place to Read -
On the sofa in the family room or on my bed in my living room :)
Quote that inspires you / gives you all the feels from a book you've read -
I'm quite stuck on this one O___O .. I don't take notes when I read. Uh.. Lemme flip through a bunch of books. *five minutes later* Here you go: With great power... comes the great need to take a nap. Wake me up later. - Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Last Olympian
Reading Regret -
Not living in the States. There isn't much for international peeps, even if I do live in Canada. Even in Canada, it's all on the East Coast! I live on the West Coast sadly.
Series You Started And Need To Finish (all books are out in series) -
There's probably a bunch for this one. Most are discouraging to finish because I hated the first book. To list a few that I would like to finish: Revenant series by Amy Plum, Belles series by Jen Calonita, Inheritance by Christopher Paolini, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, The Last Apprentice series by Joseph Delaney, etc.
Three of your All-Time Favorite Books -
Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare, Insignia by S. J. Kincaid, Keeper of the Lost Cities by Shannon Messenger. (I would have thrown in all the Percy Jackson books if I could, and hopefully the last two books don't get the sequel syndrome)
Unapologetic Fangirl For -
Very Excited for This Release More Than All the Others -
House of Hades by Rick Riordan.
Worst Bookish Habit -
Lying on the bed when I read and reading in the dark. It's not good for my eyes...
X Marks the Spot: start at the top left of your shelf and pick the 27th book -
Stealing Parker by Miranda Kenneally.
Your Latest Book Purchase -
For physical books, it would be Cinder by Marissa Meyer and Bystander by James Preller. For eBooks, Midnight Frost by Jennifer Estep.
ZZZ-snatcher book (last book that kept you up WAY late) -
It was actually Ender's Game. That was the last book I read and it kept me up way late. It was just a phenominal book!!
That's the end of my A to Z Bookish Survey! If you want to participate, make sure to link back to the Perpetual Page-Turner. Link me up to your own posts too! Have a wonderful Tuesday, everyone :)

YAY RICK RIORDAN 8D
ReplyDeleteLOGAN LERMAN <33
Okay I'm gonna stop fangirling now haha. So glad you bought Cinder :D It's such a fantastic book, I absolutely adored it and hope you do too ^^
I already read Cinder and I like it! Read Scarlet as well and I can't wait for Cress! Just look at Cress's cover! It's my favorite of all three :3
DeleteDAYUMN I so agree with Logan Lerman and Dylan o' Brien! I cannot go one day without stalking at least one of them on Imdb or something. HAHA XD And The Clockwork Princess! That book was totally the bomb. It made me cry so much at the end, I couldn't even understand what I was doing to myself. Definitely throw in Will and Jem to the dating list (I'm more for Jem though!) And I honest to goodness ADORE Leo Valdez. So much better than Jason-- Piper is so blind. HAHA! And yeah. I really want to live in the States D: I am out of reach with regards to everything back here :( and WOOHOO for Rick Riordan and Harry Potter! They're definitely favorites :) Great post Ariella~
ReplyDeleteAHHHH.. I equally love Will and Jem! For most of the series, I loved Jem the best, but in CP2, I saw how cute and sweet Will was so I love them both now! I love Leo to death as well but I wouldn't ship him with anyone. Especially not Piper. Both Piper and Jason aren't really characters that I like so they can go together! LEO IS THE BEST WOOT... Honestly, he can stay a single man ;)
DeleteGREAT answers, Ariella! I can totally see why you thought HP was intimidating- they're absolutely massive- but I'm glad you've enjoyed them so far! (I had trouble finding my flow with the final book when it first came out and as a result I didn't read it for about 6 months, but when I did it was just stunning so since you haven't read it yet I highly, highly recommend it!)
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely going to check out Keeper of the Lost Cities (such a beautiful cover) and because I'm sure I'll be adding it to my tbr I recommend you read/look into Storybound by Marissa Burt- it's amazing!
I think I lost touch with HP in that last book. At one point, I just realized I lost my interest so I stopped reading it. Keepers of the Lost Cities is an awesome book! I gave it an A+ and everything was just so cute-sy because it's a MG book! Do make sure to give it a try :D
DeleteYour answers are all cute <3
ReplyDeleteI have a similar post as your and I definitely agree with Cam. I'd love to date him myself :D
Jules of Jules Bookshelf
Hehe Cam is just too dreamy :3
