{Mini Review} Walking Disaster - Jamie McGuire

Walking Disaster by Jamie McGuire

Series: Beautiful #2
Release Date: Apr 2 / 2013
Publisher: Atria Books
Finally, the highly anticipated follow-up to the New York Times bestseller Beautiful Disaster. Can you love someone too much? Travis Maddox learned two things from his mother before she died: Love hard. Fight harder. In Walking Disaster, the life of Travis is full of fast women, underground gambling, and violence. But just when he thinks he is invincible, Abby Abernathy brings him to his knees. Every story has two sides. In Beautiful Disaster, Abby had her say. Now it’s time to see the story through Travis’s eyes.

Thank you to Atria Books and Netgalley for the review copy!

I really liked Beautiful Disaster and I wanted to read this one to see how it was from Travis's point of view. I was a bit bored with this one as it is basically telling the same story and there wasn't anything new or relatively interesting. I felt like Travis and Abby's voices were nearly the same and sometimes I forget that this is Travis talking, not Abby. This one is quite a disappointment and I wouldn't recommend someone reading this. It's basically the same. I couldn't tell much of a difference between Travis and Abby. There were a scene or two where Abby wasn't there but it wasn't really worth it reading this. The prologue in this one is definitely something you need to read though :3

  2. I like your rating scale! I haven't read the first book in this series yet because I'm not a fan of new adult, but everyone seems to like it. I really dislike when the POVs are too similar.

    1. Thank you! I was really hesitant to read the first because everyone has a love-hate relationship with it. I somehow fell in the middle. I really can't stand it when the POVs are too similar, either :(

  3. I really loved the prologue too! Since this one is in Travis's POV, I think the author should've added more Travis scenes when Abby wasn't there.
